About

Berkeley Legal Studies Association History

Shortly after the Legal Studies major was launched in 1980, a group of enterprising Legal Studies students formed The Undergraduate Legal Studies Association (TULSA). The group gave the Legal Studies students an opportunity to be more involved in the undergraduate experience at Cal. The group went dormant during the 2003-2004 school year and now, after its revival, the staff gave TULSA a face-lift! The 2004-2005 staff not only changed the name to Berkeley Legal Studies Association (BLSA) but we are also now accepting all members of the Cal community in BLSA.

Why BLSA?

We welcome people of all majors and encourage everyone to check-out our events. It is a great way to meet friends, talk to professors outside of a lecture setting, and to learn more about the department and what it offers you. BLSA presents an opportunity for you to become involved with your major and an avenue to work on implementing any changes or improvements that you want to see in the department. So show off your legal studies pride and take part in the many opportunities and benefits BLSA has to offer!
